The Norwegian town that forgot time

UPDATE 25 JUNE 2019: I have just been made aware that this story was not genuine, but a marketing stunt from Innovation Norway with the aim of attracting more tourists to Northern Norway. I based my information on numerous stories in both Norwegian and international media, but should of course have contacted the locals of Sommar√ły directly before committing to help the BBC World Service cover this story.

Haven’t we all wanted to just forget about time once in a while, and do whatever we want, whenever we want? Well, in the Arctic Norwegian town of Sommar√ły that is exactly what they are proposing to do during the summer when the sun is up 24 hours a day. Here I am talking to the BBC World Service about what is happening up there.
