UPDATE 25 JUNE 2019: I have just been made aware that this story was not genuine, but a marketing stunt from Innovation Norway with the aim of attracting more tourists to Northern Norway. I based my information on numerous stories in both Norwegian and international media, but should of course have contacted the locals of Sommarøy directly before committing to help the BBC World Service cover this story.
Haven’t we all wanted to just forget about time once in a while, and do whatever we want, whenever we want? Well, in the Arctic Norwegian town of Sommarøy that is exactly what they are proposing to do during the summer when the sun is up 24 hours a day. Here I am talking to the BBC World Service about what is happening up there.
