Should a hugely popular public broadcaster sports presenter be allowed to criticise the government on his personal Twitter account? The BBC decided no, and suspended England football legend Gary Lineker – before doubling back and reinstating him. Critics from both sides of the political spectrum now have the knives out for one of the world’s most respected broadcasting corporations. This is my report for Inside Europe on Deutsche Welle.
