Bodø is first-ever Arctic European Capital of Culture

Now, this has never happened before: This year, an Arctic city is European Capital of Culture. Bodø in Northern Norway is a city of just over 50,000 people and is about to be put firmly on the map. And as I report in this piece for Deutsche Welle’s Inside Europe, the culture capital programme has a strong focus on the Arctic region’s spectacular nature and on its indigenous Sami culture and history.
