Going, going, gone: the C of E's role in public life is up for debate

Most Brits would tell you they are not religious. Yet the Christian religion is very much present in public life. Prayers are said before meetings in parliament and in local councils up and down the country. But last month the High Court ruled it is unlawful for councils to have prayers as part of their agenda. Secularists rejoice, while Christians say it’s another step towards forcing religion out of public life altogether. Here’s my report for Inside Europe on Deutsche Welle radio:
