Feeding the poor: food banks now feed nearly 1 million Brits

The growing gap between rich and poor is apparently one reason that the UK has one of the highest rates of child mortality in western Europe, despite having one of the most internationally admired public health systems, the NHS to call upon. Campaigners are urging the government to do more to make Britain a fairer society and save more children’s lives. Here’s my report for Inside Europe on Deutsche Welle.
