To fast or not to fast: diabetes observes no religion

It’s coming up to the month of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar – when Muslims around the world are supposed to fast during daylight hours. That can be hard enough, but if you have diabetes it’s important to eat regularly in order to stay healthy. Now a new study in the UK shows some Muslim diabetes sufferers put their own health at risk during Ramadan, because they either ignore their doctor’s advice not to fast, or they don’t go to see their doctor at all.
