New Norwegian government must ponder post-oil future

Norwegian Green Party campaigning against oil explorationIn September Norwegian voters decided to give the country’s right-wing government coalition another four years in power. For the first time, the future of Norway’s petroleum sector became a key election issue. Many now argue the country must wean itself off oil and gas as soon as possible, yet the government will be pushing for opening up new areas for exploration in the Arctic north.
