How 9/11 changed the UK

Just hours after the 9/11 attacks, the then UK prime minister Tony Blair made it clear he would stand firmly with president George W Bush. It meant going to war in Afghanistan, but just over a year later it also meant invading Saddam Hussein’s Iraq on what many saw as very flimsy evidence. In the ten years since then the UK’s standing in the world has changed and so has British society. My report for Deutsche Welle Radio’s 10 year anniversary programme of 9/11 starts with Tony Blair’s reaction on September the eleventh.
